A graduate of the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C., New England born artist Karri Allrich crafts nature-inspired abstractions and evocative landscapes on both paper and canvas, employing a variety of mixed media, including acrylic and oil painting, monotypes, ink and digital paint. She is deeply inspired by the changing beauty of the four seasons, especially the liminal magic of transitions and spirit of place.
Statement:
In my work, I aim to create pieces that invite a personal and quiet connection. Whether focusing on seasonal landscapes or nature-based abstraction, my goal is to make work that resonates beyond the visual, encouraging viewers to engage over time. My approach is centered on capturing the essence of a moment—how light or scent moves through space or how objects glimpsed convey meaning and memory. Painting, for me, is less about representing a scene and more about observing how time and experience unfold. I seek to portray a sense of presence or atmosphere, mood or emotion.
As a collector, I understand you seek art that brings depth and meaning to your space. My work is created with the intent of becoming part of that environment, offering something you can engage with regularly. I aim for each piece to add a sense of reflection to your surroundings, something that grows with time. Knowing my art can create this kind of connection for others is a deeply rewarding part of my process. It motivates me to keep exploring new ideas and approaches, grounded in the knowledge that these pieces may become a meaningful part of someone else’s experience.
